Appointment Announcement: The Revd Joseph Michael Magill
The Acting Bishop of Ely is pleased to announce that The Revd Joseph (Joe) Michael Magill, currently Team Vicar in The Parr Team Ministry in the Diocese of Liverpool is to be Incumbent (Rector) of The Ramseys and Upwood Benefice, subject to satisfactory DBS check.
Joe will be instituted and installed on 1 August 2024 at 6pm at St Thomas a Becket church, Ramsey.
And an introductory message from Joe…
The Magill family are looking forward to joining you this summer! It will be a joy to meet you all and get to know you once we have moved from the North West. For now, we thought you might like to hear something about who we are, so here's a bit about us:
We're a family of four. Joe was Ordained in 2019, serving in the post-industrial northern towns of Wigan and St Helens. He grew up in Liverpool, so he is technically a scouser, which he is very proud of - but the accent has all but disappeared.! In his spare time, you'll find Joe on a motorcycle, in a garage fixing a motorcycle, enjoying the outdoors either on foot or on a bicycle, in the garden, or with his head in a book. Naomi is a stay-at-home mum and loves music, TV, travelling, a good cup of tea and a gluten free cake. Isabelle is 5 (going on 15!) and loves games, music, dancing and everything pink. Chloe is 16 months and is very playful but mostly enjoys trying to eat everything.
As a family, we love to see people flourishing in the gifts that God has given them. We have had our fair share of ups and downs and come having experienced both the joys and challenges that life can bring. Therefore, we are passionate about seeing people become fully alive in Jesus. We're grateful to God in calling us to this benefice, and thank you for everything you have been doing during the interregnum. Be assured of our prayers in the coming months, and may the Lord bless you now and always.
Joe, Naomi, Isabelle & Chloe.
